Déscription
Village Enterprise Fund's (VEF) mission is to break the cycle of poverty in East Africa through training, seed capital and mentoring for income-generating small businesses. Over the past 20 years, VEF has developed and refined a successful micro-enterprise program that combines training, seed capital grants and ongoing mentorship to help committed, hard-working people launch small businesses. A dedicated collective of in-country staff and volunteers lend their expert skills, experience and passion to this vital work. In conjunction with various partners, VEF is expanding its program to include conservation goals and training to address biodiversity/resource depletion.

Projets
In the communities surrounding the Budongo Forest Reserve (Uganda), located in the northern part of the Albertine Rift, VEF has launched a combined development/conservation program in conjunction with several conservation partners. VEF's goal is to lift the poverty levels of the surrounding communities in a way that also promotes conservation efforts and environmental knowledge to ensure forest sustainability.
